This 1862 cover went via Lewiston, NY, via the Niagara river, to
Queenstown, U.C. and then to Silver Creek. Red boxed "U.S. Paid 10"
applied at Queenstown on front. Back stamped: Queenstown, U.C. 1862.
Edge faults at top and missing back flap. A rare late demonetized
use. $950.00

Hamilton, C.W.
FLS entered the mails at Sault Ste Marie, via Detroit, via the St.
Clair river to Windsor, then Queenstown and sent to Hamilton. The
"U. States" arc was applied at Detroit and boxes "US. Paid 10" at
Queenstown. Back stamped: Windsor and Hamilton (1860). $750.00

Attempted use of a three-cent
small queen. Went from Detroit to the Dead Letter Office
Attempted use of Canadian stamp from Detroit to Kingsville, C.W. on
a 1880 letter. The Detroit office marked it "Held for Postage" and
sent it to the Dead Letter Office in Washington, DC. When the
three-cents in postage or coin had been received from the addressee
the letter was sent on to it's destination. Back stamped Detroit,
Oct. 27, 1880 plus Canadian receiving mark. $125.00
