Green-blue wood cur die essay of the “Merry Widow” design on yellowish wove card. This variety is not listed in the catalog. PF certificate states: “without frame lines, but with bluish-green background colored in, including thin vertical lines in text, palette, and circle surrounding 10.” (EP51-39) $650.00

E7P2a – Pan-Pacific small die proof
Green die proof on yellowish wove which was prepared for the Pan-Pacific Expositional of 1915. Only one example of this proof has been offered in the past 30 years. (EP51-40) $2,500.00

The high value State Department bi-color Atlanta trial color proofs are among the rarest of all proofs. They were printed in sheets of ten whereas the low values were printed in sheets of 100. When individual copies come up at auction they usually bring between $1,000.00 and $1,250.00. The current Scott U.S. Specialized Catalogue does not reflect the rarity and value of these proofs.

OX1P1 – “Post Obitum" Official Seal, Brown Hybrid Large Die Proof Extremely rare die proof of the first-issue seal, incorporating the Latin term for "after death" into the background of the design. PR5-PR7 var. - special printings
These were printed from new plates made by the Continental Bank Note Company and did not have the colored border. It has been said that two sets of sheets had been printed and some were subsequently perforated. There was a set offered in the Floyd sale which was signed by Eugene Costales. Each has a PSE certificate. A very rare special printing. This set last appeared in a Siegel rarities sale in the 1980's. $4,750.00
