Row B - 1-Pair of 73's with blue NYC carrier plus fancy geometric duplex killer on piece. A spectacular cancel. $250.00, 2-73 left sheet margin vertical pair with circle of wedges cancel, stunning $125.00 3-87 "E" grill, well centered stamp, small corner crease bottom left (very light), with PFC $250.00, 4-87 "E" grill blue quarter cork killer, strong grill, single pulled perf top right. Large margins, well centered, with PFC. $250.00, 5-73 with full strike of red NYC star in circle, diagonal creases. $100.00

Row C New tiems - 1 - 73 with five bar blue cancel from Chicago. PF certificate mentions " top right corner with a few blunted perforations". A rare cancel from the Civil War "blue period" in Chicago. $125.00 2 - 73 with patent cancel. The spike breaks the paper. The heavy pen stroke at right bleeds through to the back of the stamp. $100.00 3 - 73 with Buffalo patent punch cancel Ex-Russo. $125.00 4 - 73 with black target and portion of red legible boxed marking. $125.00

 Incredible Black Jack Valentine – Drop rate
Black Jack tied by blue Burlington, NJ duplex CDS to embossed valentine envelope. Inside is a beautiful lace fold out
envelope which is lined in royal blue. On the back of the fold out it is signed: “From M. E. Z.”.
Inside of that is  a gorgeous four color enamel valentine with a poem attached to the back, which is signed: to “Samuel”.
This is the most  intricate and beautiful 1861 period valentines we have ever seen. $1,500.00

73 - Bridgeport, CT "Held For Postage"
Sent from New York City to Bridgeport, CT where straight-line "Held For Postage" was applied since the envelope required an additional one-cent in postage to pay the three-cent domestic rate. (Ex-Fosdyke-Ray) $125.00

87 (E grill) - Unclaimed - Folded Drop Letter
Another folded 1868 bankruptcy notice cancelled with duplex New Orleans, Oct. 1 CDS. Marked "Unclaimed" on November 12th. (Ex-Fosdyke-Ray) $150.00

87 (E grill) - Baltimore "Not Found" in circle + "Return to Writer" boxed
Baltimore carrier use sent on May 6th and marked "Not Found" on the June 8th.  Additional "Return to Writer" hand stamp since the envelope had a return address. (Ex-Russo, Fosdyke-Ray) $195.00

A marvelous use from LaSalle, ILL sent via Boston and then via Prussian closed Mail to Germany. Appropriate German receiving mark on the back. Red Boston Br. Packet mark on the front.
