Written on the Eve of the 1862 Peninsular Campaign
A fabulous three page letter written by a son to his father (April
18, 1862).Letter describes a battle along the James River in good
detail. Also includes a cover from the same correspondence which is
addressed to the son's father who is also in the army and fighting
in Missouri. Letter transcription can be provided. $275.00

A rare Magnus full panel design of which very few are known. Stamp
tied by Washington, DC, Aug 25, 1862 CDS. PF certificate states that
it is genuine, the stamp faulty small tears at the bottom of the
cover. Still a very attractive cover with nice eye appeal.

A marvelous Chicago Supplementary Mail
use. Dated : December 30, 1864 on the back flap. Sent to a major in
care of General Sharman in Savannah, GA. By December of 1864
Sherman's army had left Atlanta and turned to move into the
Carolinas. A very interesting war use. $295.00

A strong full strike of N. York
Steamship cancel. An incoming steamship letter of unknown origin
with manuscript "Due 7". Note the addressee. A beautiful example of

Letter Sheet. the letter mentions "enclosed post office order in the

$100.00". Two small faults on the back flap. Very

Incredible Black
Jack Valentine – Drop rate
Black Jack tied by blue Burlington, NJ duplex CDS to
embossed valentine envelope. Inside is a beautiful lace fold out
envelope which is lined in royal blue. On the back of the fold out
it is signed: “From M. E. Z.”.
Inside of that is a gorgeous four color enamel valentine with
a poem attached to the back, which is signed: to“Samuel”.
This is the most intricate and beautiful 1861 period
valentines we have ever seen.
