Our lead story...
We hope to see you at Stampshow ‘99 in Cleveland, Ohio, on August 26-29!

Since 1990 we have been part of the Stamp King booth at StampShow. This year the booth number is 414. Our entire stock of postal history, essays and proofs, fancy cancels and philatelic literature will be consigned to our good friend Rich Drews and we will be working at his booth. Please stop by and say hello. If there is something special that you would like us to bring you can call us at (847) 215-1231 through Sunday, August 22nd.

The Cleveland show may well be the best APS show of the decade. The Garfield-Perry Stamp Club is the local organizing committee for this show. They have years of experience in putting on one of the best APS Champion of Champion shows each March. It is appropriately called "March Party". In 1998 G-P hosted the 50th anniversary of the U.S. Philatelic Classics Society and it was one of the best shows we have ever attended. If you can make Cleveland in August your in for a real treat.

OUR BEST QUARTER FOR ACQUISITIONS...

The second quarter of this year was one of the strongest quarters for acquiring new material. Featured in this issue is a small portion of the Scott Gallagher "Kentucky in the Civil War" collection. In addition, there is a portion of the Chase correspondence going to Peru and the Regar presentation set of 20th Century large die proofs. I urge you to contact me if any of this material is of interest and would be happy to send sections out on approval.

The literature side of the business saw the acquisition of three important libraries. First, there was the purchase of the holdings of Dick Rudolf of St. Paul, MN. Dick was a contemporary of Lester Brookman. He had many excellent auction catalog runs. Through third parties we acquired portions of the Henry Spellman and Weill Brothers of New Orleans libraries. Both of these contain many excellent, scarce and rare titles. The Spellman property contains a wealth of material on western postal history. Please give me a call with your specific interests.
