Our lead story...
We Will Be At the Philadelphia National Stamp Exhibition in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, on October 6-8
We will be back at the PNSE show for the tenth consecutive year. Our booth will be located in the middle of the third row. This is a new booth location. The show will be held, for the second year, at the Fort Washington Expo Center, 1100 Virginia Drive, in Fort Washington, PA. The expo center is conveniently located just a mile or two off the Pennsylvania turnpike. Show hours are Friday, October 6th and Saturday, October 7th, 10 AM to 6 PM and Sunday, October 8th, 10 AM to 4 PM.
This is one of the best shows on the east coast. It is easy to get to by car and early October is a great time to drive and observe the fall color.
Please stop by and say hello. We promise to have our entire stock of essays and proofs, postal history and fancy cancels available for you to browse. In addition, we will have a large selection of U.S. and Confederate literature available for purchase. Please call, 847/215-1231, by Monday, October 2nd if you want us to bring along a special title.
ARE YOU RECEIVING OUR E-MAIL UPDATES?Since early this summer we have been sending out e-mail updates to our client e-mail list on a regular bases. A typical update page will contain about 10 different literature offerings. Many of the items are one of a kind and only offered via this format. Our tenth update was sent out on September 20th. Our current plans call for an update to be sent out every tenth day. In the near future we will be offering philatelic material via the updates.
As far as I can see there are two problems with this concept. About 1% of the e-mail addresses bounce every time an update is sent. This would calculate out to between 25 and 30% a year. It is no secret that Internet service is a very competitive environment. People change e-mail addresses on a frequent bases. However, unlike when someone changes his or her phone number there is no directory assistance to call to get their new e-mail address. Therefore, the address is lost. Does anyone out there have a solution to this problem? If so, I would sure like to here from you.
The second problem is not as complex. Our database contains e-mail addresses for about 40% of our client base. Assuming that 60% of our client base has Internet service we are missing e-mail addresses for a third of our potential list. If you are not receiving our timely updates and would like to receive them just send your name and e-mail address to philately2@earthlink.net . You can also add your name and e-mail address through our website home page at www.jameslee.com. Just go to the subscribe box in the lower left hand portion of the page. We promise not to clutter your mailbox with junk. To date over 70% of the material offered has sold.
