Chicagopex 2003 Welcomes the United States Stamp Society

Scott Nos. 3 and 4, both extremely fine copies without gum as issued. Also included is an original government envelope, which was used to distribute these reprints. At some point in time someone added the words "india proofs" in red ink. Very few of these distribution envelopes have survived. Both stamps have clean PF certificates. A rare opportunity! Chicagopex 2003 will be held again this year at the Sheraton Chicago Northwest Hotel at Illinois Route 53 and Euclid Avenue in Arlington Heights, IL. This is adjacent to the famed Arlington Park Race Track. The show dates and hours are: Friday and Saturday, November 21st and 22nd, 10 AM to 6 PM and Sunday, November 23rd, 10 AM to 4 PM. In addition to the annual meeting of the United States Stamp Society (formerly the BIA) Chicagopex will also host the United States Postal Stationery Society and the British Caribbean Philatelic Study Group.

The Sheraton Hotel proved to be a great stamp show venue last year and a tremendous improvement over the former Rosemont location. Attendance was greatly improved and sales were up substantially over previous years. This is result of tireless efforts of the show general chairman, Al Kugel in finding this outstanding new location. Another plus is that the parking is close in and free. The hotel offers a show rate which allows collectors to stay right at the show venue in moderately priced accommodations which have been recently renovated.

We'll be in booth No. 45, just to the right of the main entrance. In addition to our stock of essays and proofs, postal history and fancy cancels we intend to have a large selection of United States, British North America and Confederate States literature.
