Our lead story...
We Acquire The Rights ToBill Helbock and I started chatting by phone last year about my taking over the sales and marketing of the books produced by La Posta Publications.
Bill and his wife, Cathy, had decided to experience a change in lifestyle by moving to Australia. Their plan was to move there for six months to see if they would like it. Bill knew he could continue to publish La Posta and his books from the land down under. However, he saw selling and shipping books from that distance as a definite problem. Once they arrived in Australia we stayed in touch by e-mail. The more we corresponded the more I liked the idea of becoming his worldwide distributor. This was shaping up to be an excellent opportunity to once again expand the literature side of our business.
When Bill returned to the states in April the die had been cast. They were definitely going back this year for a nine month stay. Our negotiations now began in earnest. This past week we reached an agreement where we will acquire all of La Posta's inprint title inventory and his recently published eight-part series on United States Post Offices. Volume I-The West will be available from us August 1st and Volume II-The Great Plains at the end of August. More about this on page two.
The entire La Posta inventroy will reach our warehouse by July 30th and be available for shipping on Saturday, August 1st. We now invite customer orders and dealer inquiries about wholesale orders.
I am indeed honored to be associated with La Posta and plan to continue to provide Bill's customers with superb service excellence.
SEE US AT STAMPSHOW 98 IN SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA...
For the ninth straight year our stock will be consigned to my good friend Rich Drews of Stamp King at his booth Nos. 422-24 at the APS Stampshow in Santa Clara. Our complete inventory of literature, essays and proofs, postal history and fancy cancels will be available. We are also planning a book signing at the booth for Volumes I and II of Bill Helbock's new series on the United States Post Offices. This will take place on either Thursday or Friday. So please do stop by and say hello, meet the author and pick up signed copies of these new books.
